When I was working at a Japanese restaurant, one lady asked me to bring teriyaki sauce in a bowl. She ordered teriyaki chicken and I already brought it to her, so I was wondering what she is going to do with so much of teriyaki sauce.
When I gave it to her, she pour whole bowl of teriyaki sauce to rice and started to mix them.
I just couldn’t move. All I could think of was how much sodium she is going to have in a just single meal.
She later told me rice taste boring so she needed something with salty, sweet, any kind of taste.
I used to do the same thing(not teriyaki sauce though.) Rice is tasteless, and color is just plain white or brown, so it is hard to eat if you only have rice itself.
For those of you who think rice is boring, you should try my rice dish. It is colorful and mixture of sour and fresh taste is absolutely delicious!
