The headache I have running this blog is when I put the title on each posting.
Sometimes the food already has a name, but some are new born of my improvisation from my whim. If you check my old entries, you’ll find the title as below:
Main ingredients + sub ingredients + mob ingredients + extra ingredients that were quietly waiting to be a compost + salad/soup/rice/whatever you can tell from the pic.
Thinking back when I named them, I still have a headache but I can’t help my weird way of naming them. But believe me, I want to give a special name, but my brain isn’t that responsive. But today’s recipe already has an ultimate name that everyone knows right after they saw the pic: Coleslaw!
What the heck does coleslaw mean?
Well, that means cabbage salad in Dutch: koolsla, checked by me from Wikipedia! (I’m sorry to all the professors who taught us wikipedia is an unacceptable source. But since I’m not a student anymore, I’m freeeeee!!)
Anyway, here is a coleslaw seasoned with zesty lime juice! If you pair up with deep fried food or BBQ, you’ll thank yourself for making a good choice!
<Today’s Recipe>
Zesty Coleslaw
<Ingredients>
- 1/4 head of cabbage – shredded
- 1/2 medium carrot – shredded
- 1/4 large cucumber – shredded
- 1 large radish – shredded
- 3~5 jalapeno pickles – chopped
- ⅓ large lime for juice
- Some garlic powder
- Some salt and pepper
- Some chopped parsley for garnish
<Directions>
Toss all ingredients together. Sprinkle some parsley on veggies and enjoy!
Coleslaw has a variety of flavor: vinaigrette, mayonnaise, or you can improvise! This time I used lime juice so you can expect me to make mayo version, at least, pretty soon! Until then, enjoy my zesty version of coleslaw!
