Long time no see, Okra!
As well as perilla leaves, okra is one of the foods that I have to give up getting from my neighbor. But recently I finally found them on the very top shelf next to herbs, and my mind doesn’t stop thinking about how to turn them into a delicious dish!
Okra’s best traits are being slimy. The unique texture becomes can’t-be-replaceable ingredients and because of that, okra is a great accent on food or makes the whole food enjoyable. Also because the shape looks cute star-shape if you cut them crosswise. They can decorate your plate naturally just being there.
Today’s recipe works great with both freshly cooked rice, tofu, or noodles. Savory sesame oil flavored unique okra entertain both your mouth and eyes while eating:D

- Transfer to a bowl and sprinkle on okra mixture.
- With a side of freshly cooked warm rice, pour them on rice and enjoy!
Did you know? Okra’s seeds used to be considered as coffee beans. Eventually they thought the real coffee is better so okra-coffee disappeared and is eaten as veggies today. This is telling me that no matter when people live, they are creative and innovative for yummy food and drink!
