Ok so it’s getting too complicated.

As you can see I’m obsessed with making and eating thick sandwiches like this or this, and everytime I’d like to share the recipe, how to set the title takes me into wonderland.

Can you guess what I put in my sandwich today from just looking at the title?

Well, I can’t either since I have so much variation for sandwiches and don’t think I will stop at some point in the near future. M…mayo? O…olive oil!? Was what I had in mind during the second to 5th try when writing this paragraph.

I considered changing the order of the alphabet, but if I would, how?

Calmo—according to the internet it means quiet and calm in Italian, but i don’t think my food makes you quiet and calm.

Mocal? No, it is an acronym for some sport league.

Comal? No, it sounds like komaru-meaning confused in Japanese. Even though I think this is the one perfectly showing what I feel right now, not suitable for my yummy food…

So now, the title for today’s recipe is Macol Sando. No meaning but acronym of the ingredients for my precious sandwich – MushroomAvocadoCheeseOnionLettuce sando, savory rich and crispy vegetable to brighten your meal time!

<Today’s Recipe>

macol sando

  • 4 slices sandwich bread
  • 2 hands shredded cheese (I used cheddar)
  • 3~5 mushrooms – thinly slice
  • ¼ onion – thinly slice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Some mustard
  • Some lettuce
  • Some jalapeno pickles
  • ½ large avocado – thinly slice

  1. Pour oil in a pan and bring it to medium high heat. Add onion and mushroom. Cook until the onion is perfectly golden brown. Set aside.
  2. Place cheese on sandwich bread and toast them.
  3. Remove bread from the oven and spread mustard. Build a sandwich with veg mixture, avocado, lettuce and slice into your preferred way. Enjoy!

Mmm, even though the name is weird, that’s the one to bring me a smile on my face. Savory flavorful mushroom and melted cheese with onion and avocado and lettuce. See? Everyone’s favorite is combined;)
