Tofu Cilantro Burger

Happy National Hamburger Day!

What kind of burgers do you like to celebrate with?

The classic way with cheese?

Asian flavor with pouring teriyaki sauce?

Or creamy with ranch dressing?

Creamy! That’s it! Since I live in a Hispanic community, let’s bring creamy Mexican flavor on my burger today! Do you remember my cilantro pasta sauce? The sauce was absolutely the bomb, so combine them to make a new flavored burger that are going to be my next favorite food!

Tofu Cilantro Burger

  • ¼ bunch cilantro
  • ½ jalapeno
  • ½ lime for juice
  • 1 tablespoon mayo
  • 1 tablespoon onion

  1. Pour olive oil in a pan and cook onions and carrots until they are golden brown. Set aside.
  2. Mash tofu in a bowl and add veggies. Sprinkle salt, garlic powder, parsley, bread crumbs and mix well. Make balls and flatten them for patties.
  3. Pour olive oil in a pan and pan-fry tofu patties until they are crispy outside but fluffy inside. (Don’t worry, the patties are already edible so you don’t have to worry about if they are cooked enough!)
  4. While patties are cooked, toast buns and assemble toppings.
  5. Mix all ingredients for sauce in a food processor and turn it on until they are smooth. Set aside.
  6. Build a burger with patties, place sauce over patties, and top with veggies! Enjoy!

For extra spicy and refreshing, double the sauce for me, please! If you got extra sauce, dip the chips in and enjoy them, too!
