Great for decoration! Rosy Berry Apple

I was watching a video on youtube the other day, and since the autoplay was on, I ran across the video from Wired, the one Wolfgang Puck answers questions on twitter.

He says how to make a stunning food presentation is using edible flowers. When I glanced at the video, yes absolutely, the presentation gave me the perfect wow moment as he promised.

But hey I don’t see any edible flowers in my neighbor’s grocery store, so I decided to make one on my own, this time especially for cakes by using in-season fruits, apples!(A little sneak peek…tomorrow’s National Chocolate Cake Day)

Ready to say wow? Let’s Cook!

<Today’s Recipe>

Rosy Berry Apple

rosy berry apple

  • ½ apple
  • ¼ water

Berry Syrup

  • 1 hand frozen berries
  • ¼ cup water

  1. Make berry syrup. Combine frozen berries and water in a small pan and bring it to boil. Mash the berries. By using a strainer, divide syrup and berry flesh.
  2. Make a rosy berry apple. Cut the apple into quarters and remove seeds and core. Thinly slice and set aside.
  3. Bring apples and water together and cook apples. When the water is boiled up and apples are cooked, pour berry syrup to add the color. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. When the apple is cooled down, line each slice of apples from left to right with the half of each apple touching together. Carefully start rolling them from left to right. Adjust the shape and set aside.

I wonder if you really understand what I’m saying here, so here is a short movie for you. I hope this helps you!(and me of course!)

Wow! That looks gorgeous! 🤩👍 I will absolutely have to try this. Once there were apple roses in a recipe but they didn’t mention cooking the slices. After trying several times ending up with broken apple slices, I gave up. Maybe those guy should have mentioned that the apple was cooked before. 😆😆

Haha~~~I can see that!😂 But I wonder if we slice the apples very thin, maybe we can…?🤔 I don’t know, but if we can do it I don’t have to wait for the apple to cool down🤔💡

I already sliced my apples very thin back then but the slices were still too sturdy to be curled 😬
