Cinnamon Sugar Toast

Happy National Toast Day! Attention breakfast lovers/toast lovers, today you gotta eat toast for breakfast…I mean whenever you feel like!

When I was a kid, I used to avoid cinnamon (I know, now I so regret!) Because of that, my mom had a small bottle of cinnamon powder but only she was using it occasionally, so I sometimes wondered how long it sit in the pantry.

Now I’m totally fine with cinnamon and love sprinkling them to my sweet/savory dish of mine, so let’s make some cinnamon toast to celebrate National Toast Day!

Ready to see the easy, quick recipe? Let’s cook!

Haha~ here is another “omg-I-feel-a-little-ebbarrased-to-call-it-recipe” food! But it’s so good especially those who’re cinnamon lovers!

A little fun fact…You won’t see these thinly sliced toast in my original country, Japan. Their usual sandwich bread are sold as a square shape of around 5 inches in every side, and each bag has 6-8 sliced bread. We like them to be crunchy outside, fluffy inside when we toast them.

When I saw American sandwich bread for the first time t a grocery store, I was surprised for them to be so slim. But, 1 bag of sandwich bread contains…how many slices, maybe 30 or so? I thought this is why American typical lunch is always grilled cheese for savory food lovers, and PB & J for sweet tooth holders…until I realized we can store them in a freezer lol!

Enjoy your way to celebrate National Toast Day, everyone!

When did Cinnamon Toast become a “lost art”? I don’t hear of kids today eating it for breakfast – but they should – great recipes!

  2. A little piece of my childhood right here, but I’d usually add a little margarine! And then, I’d roll up the bread and pretend it was a cinnamon roll. Thanks for sparking this fond memory!

You just took me right back to a sunday afternoon many years ago where we could get a little “extra”. Either a cinnamon toast like yours (they’re so good!) or a piece of toast with brown sugar spread out the same way. That was luxery and I still think of it that way even now. Thanks for this 🙂

Oh wait, I only used general cane sugar but brown sugar must give extra flavor👀💕✨

We also did this at home but we put a layer of butter on the bread first. That makes the whole thing less messy 😁
We found this out after having tried the toast without butter and then, when my sister wanted to take a big bite, she had to sneeze… you can imagine the mess it caused in our kitchen. 😁
From that time on, our mom allowed us to make these toasts, or also the one with Ovomaltine sprinkled on it, only with a layer of butter and we had to press the powder into the butter to prevent “sneezing-accidents” from happening again. 😁😁

Ah spreading butter is a smart idea👀✨ I should try it next time, or if I should keep it vegan margarine will do it😋💕✨

And he Livia, you made me laugh too much about the sneezing accidents!!😂 If you have a dog or cat there, they gotta be too busy sniffing around all day too😂
