Happy N. Apple Cider Day! Stay Cozy with Homemade Apple Cider

Happy National Apple Cider Day! It’s apple season so enjoy some apples in a variety of ways!

I see a lot of yummy posting of apples in SNS after it’s officially Fall, and yes…even though apples are pretty much available all year round here in the US, I feel Fall is a special season to enjoy them!

I was looking at the calendar and I found there is a specific date for apple cider, which I had never tried. After a few minutes of net surfing, my mind was grabbed by an image of aromatic apple drink. The ingredients and directions sounded easy, so here is the drink of the day: Homemade Apple Cider!

  1. Bring all ingredients together in a pot and bring it to boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 40 min.
  2. Mash the oranges and apples.
  3. When it’s cool, use a cheesecloth to divide liquid and fruits’ discard.
  4. Warm up the cider and sprinkle some sugar based on your taste. Serve it hot.

<Cooking Tips>

  • When squeezing the cheesecloth, gently do it or the cheesecloth get a big hole!
  • Adjust how much water you add to make it perfect based on your preference. I have a sweet tooth so I thought the recipe above was great, but my dinner buddy was like “woo sooooooo sweet!!”
