Our Baby Has Arrived! Woo hoo!

Hello everyone, it’s been a little over a month since my last post, but I hope you guys are doing well, cooking and eating yummy food:)

 

As I kept talking to you, I finally gave a birth to my baby 2 days after the expected due date…well actually, I was already in the labor and delivery department on EDD since my Dr told me my cervix was already dilated half way through and I’d be holding her in my arm probably on that night…but wow, labor took so long! 

 

This is our little Miss Smiley’s tiny yet happy feet. I bought her socks that are supposed to be for “newborn” but they are waaaaaay too big for her. We’d have to wait till she reaches enough size to fit them, so until then, I’d rub her feet to keep them warm whenever I see her feet. Thankfully, her feet don’t smell (yet!)

To all pregnant women—even if you bleed during pregnancy, don’t lose hope to see your little one. 

In the 13th week, I bled almost the same amount of grande size drinks from Starbucks. Ever since that dark night, I kept bleeding until we reached the 20th week. I read/watched so many dramas/comics/books/articles that tell us once you bleed during pregnancy, we’d need to say good-bye soon to our baby growing in our belly. I believed and I was scared. Every time I went to the bathroom, I saw blood and thought “probably today is the last day I can be with her.” But no, our baby was born perfectly healthy. Within a month, her intake of breast milk/formula increased dramatically that led her diaper size to be upgraded from Newborn to size 1.  I know it’s scary and hard to keep hope, but like I said, it doesn’t always mean the end.  

 

To anyone who works in the medical field—thank you, thank you so much for your service!

I thought exactly the same thing when I had surgery 3 years ago, but let me say this again. You rock!!

it was my first time to get applause for just inhaling/exhaling like everyone does everyday. I don’t have contractions anymore, but I’m breathing today too…can I still get applause, or am I asking too much?

I’ve heard a lot about the “sleepless night” story from everyone, so I had some idea how hard it could be to be with a newborn, but no, I only thought I knew but not really understanding it. Yes I have had several sleepless nights, and I don’t remember when was the last time I had hot food/drinks. Whenever my food is ready, my baby starts to cry demanding to be fed. And when I come back to the table, all food/drink is cold. Having a newborn taught me that hot food/drinks is actually a luxury. 

 

Anyways, today is National Peach Cobbler Day. It’s a sweet treat that to be enjoyed while it’s still nice and warm. Enjoy!
